This is some seriously innovative movie promotion. This is some awesome use of technical excellence. This is augmented reality at its very best. This is something truly amazing and exceptional.

So, this is something really innovative and technical idea designed by Gold’s Gym for the promotion of the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. The idea was to let the users step into the shoes of Milkha Singh and let them compete with his records. It’s a sort of motivation for the fitness freaks.
The whole idea was to use augmented reality and let the users participate in a 400 m race in virtual stadium. Gold’s Gym created a virtual stadium and connected it to a physical treadmill for users to run on a physical track. User’s could see the first-person view of the stadium with the screen reflecting their running speed. As they finish the race, their timing would flash on the screen, indicating if they had beaten Milkha’s record.
Over 3000 enthusiastic runners experienced this innovative augmented reality while over 10000 individuals witnessed it. The promotional campaign work wonders for the movie and the movie become the second highest grosser of 2013.
