Emraan Hashmi, who is off the big screen since ‘Ghanchakkar‘ last year, is back with ‘Raja Natwarlal’. The film is directed by Kunal Deshmukh who previously directed the ‘Jannat’ franchise.
The trailer shows Emraan Hashmi playing the conman ‘Raja’ who with the help of his Godfather played by Paresh Rawal becomes Raja Natwarlal= the famous conman. Paresh Rawal is seen assuring Raja, “Aaj tak tum sirf Raja the, Natwarlal main tumhe banaunga” which is an obvious reference to famous conman Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava of Bihar, better known as Natwarlal, who is said to have sold Taj Mahal and Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Emraan Hashmi is given the tag “420 Ka Expert” in the trailer. The actor is paired opposite to Pakistani actor Humaima Malick .
The film is a masala crime comedy which will be showing Emraan Hashmi in a quirky avatar as a conman. Kay Kay Menon plays the menacing antagonist in the movie.
A con dialogues shown in the trailer is, “Life iss paise ki tarah hai, bus ek baar kharch kar paoge.”
Emraan Hashmi stays true to his serial kisser tag in the movie. The actor is shown locking lips with the Pakistani beauty, who plays the role of a Bar Dancer in the movie.
The movie was previously titled ‘Shaatir’ but later the name was changed to Raja Natwarlal inspired by Amitabh Bachchan classic Mr. Natwarlal. Produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, movie will release on 29th August, 2014.
